Make It Monday ::: Letter to Santa

Welcome to another Make it Monday

I thought it was about time to give Steph a little break and so i have prepared a little tutorial for you. I think this is a brilliant and easy one to do with the kids in preparation for Christmas!

All kids like to write their own letters to Santa, so why not send them off in style

To make your letter to Santa you will need

Emerald and Green felt
Santas little helpers pattern
white embroidery thread
Tracing paper

Firstly, click onto the pattern sheets to enlarge them and print them off

Step One
Trace the text 'Letter to Santa' onto tracing paper. Pin onto Green felt.

Using 3 strands embroidery thread, backstitch the lettering.

Gently tear away the tracing paper. A pair of tweezers will help to remove any teeny tiny bits left behind.

Place the Green felt (front of Envelope) onto the Emerald green felt. Line it up and Blanket stitch. I carried on and blanket stitch the whole envelope including the flap.

The Santa from the Santas's little helpers kit fits perfectly onto the front of the envelope, but you can use anything you like to decorate the front. After sewing the Santa, i used a small amount of glue around the edge of the Santa to adhere to the flap so you dont see any stitching.

Team it up with a Free printable 'Letter to Santa, I love this one by Jessica N Designs
Pop over to her blog and say thanks for the download if you use it, its a super blog anyway so you will want to stop and have a browse.

I had some Santa keys left over from last year so made up a few of these to go with them too :)

This little 'Special Santa Key' message is included in the pattern above for you to use for free.
